Details

"The Security Service and the State Bureau of Investigation detained another traitor official in Kherson who collaborated with Russia during the occupation of the city. The suspect is a junior inspector of the Kherson pre-trial detention center who supported the Nazis at the beginning of the full-scale war. For this, he was "appointed" a guard in a Russian torture chamber, which the enemy set up in the building of the seized detention center," the SBU reported.

"While in his "position", the traitor guarded the cells where the occupiers massively imprisoned local residents," the SBU said in a statement.

Most of the victims were reportedly among members of the resistance movement in the southern region of Ukraine.

"In addition, the defendant agitated his friends to join the occupation institution of the Russian Federation, promising potential candidates a "salary" in rubles and loyalty from the aggressor," the special service said.

After the release of Kherson, the offender, as noted by the SBU, tried to avoid justice and constantly changed his place of residence.

"Law enforcement officers have established the traitor's whereabouts and detained him," the SBU said.

The detainee was served a notice of suspicion under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:

▪️ part 2 of Article 111 (high treason committed under martial law);

▪️ part 7 of Art. 111-1 (collaboration activities).

The man is in custody. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
