The city authorities have appealed to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to urgently restore the Paton Bridge across the Dnipro River to avoid emergencies. UNN reports with reference to KCSA.

"The city authorities have appealed to the government to take measures to restore and adapt the E.O. Paton Bridge across the Dnipro River and its approaches to avoid emergencies. The corresponding letter was signed by Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko on August 1," the statement said.

The KCSA reminded that at the insistence of the government, the Ministry of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine, the city transferred the E.O. Paton bridge for repair to the Big Construction project.

"Thus, the Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 1271 designated the Infrastructure Restoration and Development Service in Kyiv Region as the customer for these works. In January 2023, by the order of KCMA, the Kyivavtodor municipal corporation transferred the functions of the customer for the restoration work to the Service," the statement said.

The Kyiv City Administration states that it has repeatedly appealed to the Ministry of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine, the State Agency for the Restoration and Development of Infrastructure in Kyiv Region with a request to take immediate steps to restore this bridge, as it is of strategic importance to Kyiv.

"However, no work has been done to improve the condition of the structure for two years. At the same time, the specialists of the Kyivavtoshlyakhmist municipal enterprise have been monitoring the technical condition of the structure around the clock and constantly performing a range of works on its operational maintenance," KCSA informs.
