Japan's famous Mount Fuji has finally seen its first snowfall, a month later than usual. This was the latest first snowfall in the last 130 years of observations.
Snow has finally fallen on Mount Fuji in Japan, a month behind the seasonal average. Earlier, the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) announced a record delay in the first autumn snowfall.

Last year, snow fell on the mountain on October 5, according to the JMA. Usually 3,776 meters high, the mountain has seen light snowfall at the summit in previous years starting on October 2.
