In Poland, for the first time since such studies have been conducted, a majority of citizens opposed accepting refugees from Ukraine. This is evidenced by the results of a survey by the Center for Public Opinion Research (CBOS), reports RMF24, writes UNN.

According to the survey, 52% of respondents believe that Poland should not accept refugees from war-torn areas of Ukraine, while 42% hold the opposite opinion. The authors of the study note that the deterioration of attitudes towards Ukrainians is part of a trend that has been ongoing since mid-2023. For comparison, after the start of Russia's full-scale invasion in 2022, 94% of Poles supported accepting Ukrainians.
Also, 54% of respondents believe that aid to Ukrainian refugees is excessive. Another 40% called it adequate, and 3% – insufficient.
The vast majority of respondents – 87% – supported limiting access to full medical care for Ukrainians who do not pay health insurance contributions in Poland. At the same time, 58% of Poles opposed the abolition of the right to free accommodation in collective housing centers for mothers with children over one year old, while 29% of respondents supported such a decision.
According to CBOS, the acceptance of Ukrainian refugees is most often supported by voters of the "New Left", "Together" and "Civic Coalition" parties. In contrast, opponents are most numerous among supporters of the "Law and Justice" party and both political forces of the "Confederation".
