The accident reportedly occurred on Bratislavska Street in the Desnianskyi district of Kyiv. An Audi car was moving along the roadway and hit an Infiniti, which was traveling in the same direction as it. As a result of the impact, the driver of the Infiniti lost control and drove into the oncoming lane, where he also collided with the Kia.
The drivers of the Infiniti and KIA received injuries of varying severity and were hospitalized.
Law enforcement officers detained the driver of the Audi. It was a 23-year-old man who was driving while intoxicated. The Drager device showed 1.74 ppm, the police said.
Investigators, under the procedural control of the prosecutor's office, served him a notice of suspicion under Part 1 of Article 286-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - violation of the rules of road safety or operation of transport by persons driving vehicles while intoxicated.
The sanction of the article provides for up to three years in prison with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of three to five years.
