In Kharkiv region, a 19-year-old boy was notified of suspicion for raping a 13-year-old child — his biological uncle's stepdaughter, UNN reports with reference to the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.
Under the procedural guidance of the Berestyn District Prosecutor's Office of Kharkiv Region, a 19-year-old boy was notified of suspicion for the rape of a person who has not reached the age of fourteen (Part 4 of Article 152 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The investigation established that the crime occurred at the end of January 2026 in one of the settlements of the Berestyn district. The suspect came to visit his uncle, where he committed sexual acts against his 13-year-old stepdaughter against the victim's will. The perpetrator, knowing the child's age and taking advantage of her helpless state, raped her.
After the act, the young man threatened the girl so that she would not tell anyone what had happened. Due to fear and apprehension, the victim remained silent for some time, but later told her mother everything.
The suspect was remanded in custody.
The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of ten to fifteen years.
