The investigation established that a carrier from Georgia was transporting electric vehicles to the address of an enterprise in Lviv. In order to minimize mandatory customs payments, documents with an undervalued cost of the cars were submitted to the regulatory authorities.
However, during the inspection of the driver's cabin, law enforcement officers discovered hidden original documents with the real market price of the cars—approximately 1 million UAH each.
Detectives seized the electric vehicles, the heavy goods vehicle, and the trailer used for the illegal movement of the cars across the customs border.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
