Yevhen Dyordyay, an officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and MHP employee, shared his experience of supporting the military through the MHP Poruch program. The company provides comprehensive assistance to 2.5 thousand military personnel and their families in 13 regions of Ukraine.

MHP employee Yevhen Dyordyay joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine in March 2022. In a year and a half, he has risen from a soldier to an officer, and is currently serving in the Logistics Command of the Land Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as an expert of the MHP Poruch program committee. As part of the special project “Next to those who protect us”, Dyordyay toldhow employers can support the military and how important it is to support their native defenders, UNN reports.

Györgyi has been with MHP since 2020. He has 10 years of experience in logistics, including at Nova Poshta.

“In 2020, I joined MHP and started moving towards cold logistics in Ukraine. Initially, I held the position of Head of the industrial kitchen distribution center. Later, having achieved his goals, he received an offer to become Deputy Director of Logistics for Operations.

While holding this position, I met a full-scale war. I did not think for a second about going abroad. I decided that I had to defend my country, my family, my home. So I took my wife and children to a safe place and immediately joined the Armed Forces. It was March 2022,” he recalls.

Györgyi started his career in the Armed Forces as a rifleman. However, within a short period of time, about a month, his logistics skills were needed at one of the food warehouses, which he headed.

“There were very few qualified people who could organize logistics. Especially in the war zone.

I was the head of a food warehouse in the combat zone in the Lysychansk sector. This is a conditional position, because I organized the delivery of food, ammunition, and wounded soldiers.

My previous experience in large companies and the skills I acquired in logistics helped me to do my job quickly and dynamically,” he said

Dyordyay also spoke about the importance of employer support for the military and their families, using the example of MHP and the MHP Next door program.

“When I was drafted, I immediately informed my immediate supervisor. He responded with feedback: that at any time my wife and my family could contact MHP for any help they needed. My wife did, and she was helped. Sometimes it was psychological support, sometimes it was physical support, like calling a handyman, etc.

MHP is developing quite actively in supporting military families: it holds family meetings, organizes quests, various events, and children's camps. MHP understands the value of time spent with family. It helps to isolate them from problems.

In the case of the 2.5 thousand people who protect the crane, MHP employees help absolutely everyone.

There is nothing more important for a man than the safety of his family, comfort and well-being. If a soldier knows that his family is doing well, he will do well,” he added.

Györgyi also clarified that MHP has established a network of coordinators in 13 regions of Ukraine and spoke about the importance of the program.

“Coordinators are people who help our military in any way. It can be a medical examination, psychological or legal support, support for creating new businesses and ideas. A coordinator is a person who will guide and support you in any direction.

A systematic approach gives the military confidence that they are not forgotten, that they are expected and supported. This is a social responsibility of every company in Ukraine. Every company in Ukraine should be involved in systemic, nationwide activities, help rehabilitation centers, create these centers, adaptation centers, and develop inclusiveness in Ukraine,” he said.

Finally, Györgyi explained how the families of the defenders who work at MHP are united.

“The MHP Next Door program includes various events organized by our coordinators. For example, family weekends, which include various workshops, clay modeling, general competitions, team competitions that bring together the families of our military. It is very important when you are not left alone with your problems and can share them,” he summarized.
