The IAEA plans to invite Russia and Ukraine to assess the technical condition of the idle Zaporizhzhia NPP in 2024.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) intends to propose to Ukraine and Russia to assess the technical condition of the Zaporizhzhia NPP in 2024. This was announced by IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi. He also spoke about plans to visit Russia and Ukraine again, reports UNN.

According to Mr. Grossi, Zaporizhzhia NPP has been out of service for two years. He called this situation unprecedented.
"We believe that a number of safety checks need to be carried out. We have a lot of mechanical parts, pumps, pipelines, fuel that need to be checked," the IAEA chief told reporters after the UN Security Council meeting.
When asked whether he plans to discuss this issue with Ukraine and Russia, Rafael Grossi answered in the affirmative.
