Hotel partially collapses in Germany: at least one dead, people trapped under rubble

A hotel partially collapsed in the town of Creve, and a body was found under the rubble. 8 people, including a child, remain trapped in the rubble, some of them seriously injured. 250 rescuers are working at the scene.
A hotel in the city of Krewe on the Moselle in western Germany has partially collapsed. Rescuers found the body of a dead man under the rubble. Eight people are still trapped in the building, some of them seriously injured. This is reported by Spiegel, UNN reports.
According to reports, one of the building's floors collapsed around 11 p.m. on Tuesday. Five people managed to get out of the building unharmed. Photos from the scene show that part of the building has collapsed.
Rescue services found one dead person in the building. Eight more people remain trapped in the rubble, including a child. Some of them were seriously injured.
Police say it is "an extremely difficult operation, as only emergency personnel can enter the building, exercising the utmost caution." Around 250 firefighters, paramedics, and law enforcement officers, including special forces, rescue dog teams, and drones, are on the scene. About 30 residents of nearby houses were moved to a safe place as a precautionary measure.
It is not yet clear why the building collapsed. Neither the police nor the fire brigade have provided any information, the newspaper notes.
