Guided Russian KABs on Kharkiv: SBU detained publishing house employee

The Security Service of Ukraine detained a Russian informant who was directing Russian KABs at Kharkiv. This is reported by the press service of SBU, writes UNN.

The Security Service thwarted a new attempt by the rashists to obtain up-to-date data on the defense of Kharkiv. As a result of a special operation in the regional center, a Russian informant who was spying on units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was detained. The perpetrator turned out to be a 49-year-old handyman of a local publishing house, who was recruited by the occupiers through Telegram channels

- the SBU reported.

Details

According to the SBU, according to the enemy's instructions, the man traveled around the northern outskirts of the frontline city, where he tried to identify spare command posts of Ukrainian troops. Most of his reconnaissance trips took place under the guise of working trips, and after returning home, he summarized the collected data for a "report" to the Russian curator, the special service noted.

"According to the coordinates provided by the informant, the aggressor planned to prepare a new series of air strikes on the city using guided aerial bombs," the SBU noted.

After documenting the crimes of the figure, he was detained at his place of residence. Simultaneously, comprehensive measures were taken to secure the locations of the Defense Forces.

Law enforcement officers also found that the perpetrator was recording the addresses of energy facilities, in particular, modular boiler houses.

During the search of the detainee's residence, a phone with a messenger was found, through which he sent geolocations of potential targets to the occupiers in the form of marks on Google maps.

He was charged with suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (unauthorized dissemination of information on the movement, movement or location of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, if it is possible to identify them on the ground). The detainee is in custody. He faces up to 8 years of imprisonment.

Let's remind

Earlier, law enforcement officers in Kharkiv region exposed two local residents who were collecting data on the location of the Armed Forces for the FSB. A former teacher and a hotel security guard were passing information to the enemy via Telegram.

And in Kharkiv, two FSB agents were detained - a psychotherapist and a deacon of the UOC (MP), who were collecting data on Ukrainian soldiers. The perpetrators used patients and parishioners to obtain information about the Armed Forces.
