Government to allocate almost UAH 3 billion for Ukrainian schools

The Cabinet of Ministers announced the allocation of almost UAH 3 billion to support schools. UAH 1.5 billion will be allocated to implement the New Ukrainian School standards, and another UAH 1.5 billion will be spent on modernizing school canteens.

The Government of Ukraine has announced the allocation of almost UAH 3 billion to support Ukrainian schools, to modernize educational infrastructure and improve the quality of education. As part of this funding, UAH 1.5 billion will be used to implement the New Ukrainian School standards and another UAH 1.5 billion will be used to purchase equipment and modernize school canteens. This was reported by a UNN correspondent after the government meeting on August 13.

We are making another decision in the field of education. We are allocating UAH 1.5 billion in subventions to regional budgets to implement the New Ukrainian School standards. These funds will be used to purchase computer and multimedia equipment, furniture, educational literature, and to upgrade the skills of educators

- said the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.

The government's representative in the parliament, Taras Melnychuk, also said that the subvention of UAH 1 billion 499 million 409 thousand from the state budget to local budgets for "the purchase of equipment, creation and modernization (reconstruction and overhaul) of canteens (catering units) of general secondary education institutions in 2024" has been distributed.
