The government allocates more than UAH 5 billion for a water pipeline construction project to overcome the consequences of the destruction of the Kakhovka HPP.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has allocated more than UAH 5 billion for a pilot project to build main water pipelines to address the negative consequences of the destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant.
This was reported by government representative in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnychuk on Telegram, UNN reports .
UAH 5 billion was allocated to the State Agency for the Restoration and Development of Infrastructure from the fund for liquidation of the consequences of armed aggression on a non-refundable basis. 149 million 677,013 thousand UAH (development expenditures) for a new budget program to finance the construction of main water pipelines in connection with the need to eliminate the negative consequences associated with the destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant
According to him, the newly revised appendix
"List of facilities for the construction of main water pipelines in connection with the need to eliminate the negative consequences associated with the destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant and the amount of budgetary funds for their financial support" to the Procedure for the implementation of the pilot project for the construction of main water pipelines, approved by the CMU Resolution of 06.06.2023 N 566.

Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction and Minister of Community, Territorial and Infrastructure Development Oleksandr Kubrakov, commenting on the discussion about the need to rebuild the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant, said that the dam is definitely needed in some form.
