German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt announced a new level of threat and a hybrid attack scenario after a drone carrying explosives was discovered at Leipzig Airport. He stressed that the drone had been specially designed to bypass security systems, while the investigation is ongoing.

The discovery at the airport of a drone equipped with an explosive device turned out to be significantly more serious than an ordinary security incident. In a statement to the press made on Wednesday evening, German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt spoke of a "new level of threat" and a "hybrid attack scenario." Bild reports, writes UNN.
The appearance of a drone carrying explosives on airport grounds represents a new threat scenario," the minister said. Carrying out such an operation requires significant technical knowledge and experience in handling explosives. "Nothing here points to an amateur approach. This is a professional hybrid threat
The minister's comments regarding the technologies used are particularly concerning. Although Germany's airports are equipped with drone defense systems, the available data indicates that they proved ineffective against this particular UAV.
This drone was specifically designed to bypass the existing defense systems
It remains unknown who was behind the launch of the drone—the minister urged against jumping to conclusions. Assumptions regarding the explosives used, the drone's origin, or the possible perpetrators, he said, may prove to be "completely wrong." The investigation is continuing in all directions with the aim of identifying those responsible.
