A cold snap with frosty temperatures down to -8 degrees Celsius hit most of Poland due to the penetration of Arctic air from Central Europe.

Most of the territory of Poland is marked by a cold snap, with frosty temperatures of up to -8 degrees in most of the country. Alerts have been issued in almost all voivodeships due to the frost, UNN reports with reference to the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management of Poland.

After warming up in early April, winter weather returned to most of Poland last weekend. There were rains and sleet, and temperatures dropped below freezing.

The Meteorological Service has warned of frosts that have occurred as a result of Arctic air penetrating Central Europe.

It was especially cold in the Karkonosze Mountains. According to the Karkonosze National Park, it was -8 degrees Celsius in the morning on its profile on Mount X on Snezka. Severe frost also prevailed in the vicinity of Strzecha Akademicza and on the Karkonosze saddle.

It was also cool in the north of the country, where 4 degrees below zero was recorded.

During the day, however, it will not be much warmer in most of the country, according to the forecast of the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management - about 5 degrees Celsius.
