Two law enforcement officers, Dmytro Bondarchuk and Denys Budchenko, were killed in a traffic accident in the Solomianskyi district of Kyiv, where a driver speeding onto a pedestrian zone caused the deaths of 4 people and injured three others. This was reported by the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kyiv, according to UNN

The staff of the National Police reports with deep sorrow the tragic death of employees of the Solomianskyi Police Department of Kyiv during today's traffic accident. Police Senior Lieutenant Dmytro Bondarchuk and Police Lieutenant Denys Budchenko, who were performing their official duties

The police reported that their lives and the lives of two other people—a 47-year-old woman and a 12-year-old boy—were cut short as a result of a road traffic accident in the Solomianskyi district of Kyiv. 

Dmytro Bondarchuk was born on July 4, 2002, in the city of Boyarka, Kyiv region. After studying at the National Academy of Internal Affairs, he dedicated his life to serving in the police. He rose from a police officer in the Metro Police Department to a senior district police officer of the Solomianskyi Police Department. Colleagues knew him as a responsible, decisive, and professional law enforcement officer who commanded authority and respect among the personnel.

Denys Budchenko was born on March 19, 2005, in the Rivne region. After graduating from the National Academy of Internal Affairs, he began his service as a district police officer in the Solomianskyi Police Department. Despite his young age, he proved himself to be a conscientious, principled, and sincere police officer who served with honor and was dedicated to his chosen profession.

The National Police of Ukraine expresses its sincere condolences to the families, loved ones, friends, and colleagues of the deceased police officers, as well as the civilians. We share the pain of this irreparable loss and bow our heads in deep mourning
