In August, an online conference on energy security will be held as part of the Peace Formula. The event is aimed at developing components of a peace plan and agreeing on key agreements on energy security.
The first thematic conference as a follow-up to the Peace Summit will be held online in August. It will be devoted to the third point of the Peace Formula "Energy Security". UNN reports this with reference to the OP.
It is reported that the head of the Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak, held an expanded meeting of the working group on the implementation of the "Energy Security" clause of the Peace Formula.
The meeting was attended by diplomatic representatives of about 40 partner countries and organizations, as well as Deputy Heads of the Presidential Office Ihor Zhovkva and Mykola Tochytskyi, Minister of Energy Herman Halushchenko and his deputy Svitlana Hrynchuk, and advisors to the Head of the Presidential Office Daria Zarivna and Oleksandr Bevz.
Yermak said that the Peace Summit will be followed by thematic conferences dedicated to individual blocks of the Peace Formula. They will be aimed at developing and agreeing on the components of the overall peace plan, which was announced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"The first such conference will be dedicated to the third point of the Peace Formula, Energy Security. The event will take place this year in August in an online format," the statement said.
Mr. Yermak emphasized that the total loss of generation due to Russian shelling amounted to 9 GW. According to him, July of this year was the most difficult for Ukrainians and the economy due to an unprecedented electricity shortage.
"Our power engineers have managed to stabilize the situation and there have been no blackouts for more than two weeks. However, the autumn and winter season is ahead, and we must coordinate our efforts to prevent new destruction and help restore the energy sector," Yermak said.
Minister of Energy Herman Halushchenko gave a detailed report on the consequences of attacks on energy infrastructure.
"The outcome of this conference should be an agreed communiqué that will reflect the key agreements for the sake of energy security," summarized Yermak.
