Earned half a million hryvnias a month from cannabis sales: members of drug gang to be tried

The members of the drug gang, who produced and illegally sold cannabis, earning almost half a million hryvnias a month, face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
An indictment was sent to court against the organizer and three members of the group who produced and illegally sold cannabis. The income from this "business" brought them almost half a million hryvnias a month. This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office on Monday, UNN reports.
Under the procedural supervision of prosecutors of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office and the Dnipro District Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv, an indictment was submitted to the court against the organizer and three members of the organized group on the facts of committing grave and especially grave crimes in the field of drug trafficking (Part 3 of Art. 307 and Part 3 of Art. 28, Part 2 of Art. 317 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)
The investigation established that in 2023, a Kyiv resident created an organized group to generate income from the illegal sale of cannabis.
The group consisted of the organizer and three members. They produced wholesale batches of cannabis, as well as packaged it for retail sale and sold it to customers.
"The income from the illegal business brought the organizer almost half a million hryvnias every month," the prosecutor's office emphasized.
Law enforcement officers conducted 4 operational purchases, and during the searches seized drugs ready for sale in particularly large quantities, draft records, and found the premises where the group members were growing and preparing cannabis for sale.
Now the perpetrators face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
