Telegram stopped tens of thousands of attempts to send messages calling for terrorist attacks from strangers and blocked thousands of users who participated in this flash mob.
Recently, tens of thousands of attempts to send messages from strangers calling for terrorist attacks were stopped on Telegram. This was reported by Telegram founder Pavel Durov, UNN reports.
"Four days ago, Russian-speaking Telegram users began to complain about messages from strangers calling for terrorist attacks. Within an hour of receiving such complaints, we took a number of technical and organizational measures to prevent this activity," Durov said.
According to him, as a result, tens of thousands of attempts to send such messages were stopped, and thousands of users participating in this flash mob faced permanent blocking of their Telegram accounts.

Durov also added that from the beginning of next week, all users from Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus will be able to limit the number of people who can send them personal messages.
"We are also implementing artificial intelligence solutions to filter such spam even more effectively. Telegram is not a place for spam and calls for violence," Durov summarized.
