The President of Ukraine and the Prime Minister of India held three-hour talks, focusing on the war. Modi reaffirmed support for Ukraine's territorial integrity and India's readiness to promote a just peace.

The main topic of the talks between President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi  was Russia's war against Ukraine. This was announced by the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak during a telethon, adding that India would never support an initiative that would involve compromises on Ukraine's territorial integrity, UNN reports.

"In general, this meeting took place during, I would say, a record time, almost 3 hours of negotiations, and then there was a part of the meeting in a broader format, which was joined by a number of ministers from both sides and other members of the delegations," Yermak said.

He noted that the main topic of the talks was the war.

"We talked about many topics. The main topic was Russia's war against Ukraine. Our President is a very outspoken and direct person, so all the messages, all our principled positions were again voiced to our colleagues from India. What is very important is that Prime Minister Modi emphasized this several times, calling the war a war, and saying that India has always been on the side of international law, the UN Charter, and India has an absolutely clear position on supporting Ukraine's independence, territorial integrity, and sovereignty," Yermak said.

In addition, Yermak said that India would never support an initiative that would involve compromises on Ukraine's territorial integrity.

"It was very important that Prime Minister Modi emphasized several times that India will never support any initiative that will be associated with disrespect or with  any compromise on the territorial integrity of Ukraine in order to end this war," Yermak said.

According to him, the parties also discussed the development of the processes regarding President Zelenskyy's Peace Formula.

"Prime Minister Modi said that India participated in all the activities that were at the level of national security advisors, at the level of the first inaugural Peace Summit. This process will continue and India will participate. India is ready and will join, participate and support these formats, and really wants to make its contribution to ensure that a just peace comes to Ukraine," Yermak said.
