The Parliamentary Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence has completed consideration of all 4,269 amendments to the draft law on mobilization at its meeting today. In two weeks, the Verkhovna Rada may start considering the document, MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak said on Friday, UNN reports.
"The Defense Committee has today completed consideration of all 4269 amendments to the draft law on mobilization," Zheleznyak wrote on Telegram.
However, he pointed out that it is not yet possible to say whether the document is 100% ready.
According to him, the draft law still has a couple of stages to go before voting in the second reading. Additional committee amendments are expected to be considered. In addition, the entire table needs to be approved by a committee decision.
"It seems that it is already clear that in two weeks the Rada will move on to consider the issue in the parliamentary hall," Zheleznyak said.
Optional
On February 7, the Verkhovna Rada voted in favor of government draft law No. 10449, which provides for changes to the legislation on mobilization, in the first reading. The parliament emphasized that the draft law would be amended by the second reading. In particular, the mono-majority indicated that compromises would be sought for the second reading on the postponement of military service for graduate students, the seizure of accounts, etc.
