About the film studio
The Oleksandr Dovzhenko Film Studio, as indicated by the State Film Agency, is not just production pavilions, but a true "forge" of Ukrainian poetic cinema. Founded in 1927, it has given the world over a thousand films, including works that influenced the development of cinematic art. It was here that Oleksandr Dovzhenko, Serhiy Parajanov, and Leonid Bykov created their legendary films.
Today, the studio remains a living symbol of Ukrainian identity and the indomitable cultural heritage. It is a place where legends were born, and which must be preserved for future generations, emphasized the State Film Agency.
What other places were included in the list
The initiative, launched in 2022, recognizes locations with special historical and symbolic significance for world cinema. The updated list also includes iconic cinemas and filming locations from Berlin, Stockholm, Riga, and Tallinn.
