Court starts hearing on the merits of the case against ex-Chairman of the Board of Naftogaz Kobolyev

The High Anti-Corruption Court is considering a case against former Naftogaz CEO Andriy Kobolyev, who is accused of embezzling over UAH 229 million. The next court hearing is scheduled for January 4, 2024.
The High Anti-Corruption Court has begun consideration of the merits of the case against former Chairman of the Board of Naftogaz of Ukraine Andriy Kobolyev, who is suspected of embezzling over UAH 229 million. UNN reports this with reference to the SAPO.
On December 14, 2023, following the results of the preparatory meeting, the panel of judges of the High Anti-Corruption Court refused to return the indictment to the defense, appointed it for consideration on the merits and began proceedings in the case against the former Chairman of the Board of Naftogaz of Ukraine
The prosecutor reportedly read out a summary of the indictment in the court hearing.
The next hearing in the case is scheduled for January 4, 2024.

In April 2023, the pre-trial investigation in the case of former Naftogaz CEO Kobolyev was completed.
On January 19, 2023, the SAPO prosecutor and NABU detectives served a notice of suspicion to the former Chairman of the Board of Naftogaz of Ukraine, who, according to the SAPO, abused his official position to secure bonuses worth more than UAH 229 million. He is charged with committing a crime under Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
