Civilians will be able to use declared weapons to deter armed aggression in Russia

The Cabinet of Ministers has updated the procedure for the use of firearms by civilians during martial law. Now citizens will be able to use the declared weapons to repel Russia's armed aggression.
The government has clarified the procedure for the use of firearms by civilians.

The updated Procedure provides for the right of civilians to use firearms declared in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On Ensuring the Participation of Civilians in the Defense of Ukraine,” the agency informs.

It is also explained that the relevant resolution was adopted taking into account the requirements of the Law of Ukraine “On Ensuring the Participation of Civilians in the Defense of Ukraine”.
This amends clause 4 of the Procedure for the use of firearms by civilians while participating in repelling and deterring the armed aggression of the Russian Federation and/or other states against Ukraine during martial law.
