China's Foreign Ministry on peace in Ukraine: "There should be no winners and losers in a political settlement"
Kyiv • UNN
China calls for a political settlement of the war in Ukraine through negotiations without winners and losers, opposing military action.
The "crisis" in Ukraine should be resolved through negotiations, not fighting, and there should be no winners and losers in a political settlement, said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin, UNN reports citing the ministry's website .
China's position on the crisis in Ukraine has been consistent, clear and transparent. There is a risk of further deterioration and escalation of the crisis, so efforts should be made to de-escalate the conflict and end it through negotiations rather than military action. There should be no winners and losers in a political settlement. On the contrary, peace should prevail
According to him, China will continue to play a constructive role in achieving peace in Ukraine.
He also pointed out that China is neither a "creator of the conflict nor a party to it" and has never provided lethal weapons or equipment to any side.
"We have not sought and will not seek to benefit from this conflict. Other countries should not slander and attack the normal relations between China and Russia, should not infringe on the legitimate rights of China and Chinese companies, should not mindlessly shift the blame to China and provoke confrontation in the camp," Wang Wenbin concluded.
