For example, the Chinese company Green Cycle Energy recently received an order from the Belarusian company BelOMO Holding for 3000 components for the LAD-21T laser targeting module.

The module itself is used by the military to form a laser pointer for high-precision bombs and laser-guided missiles.

Payment under the contract was made in China's national currency, RMB, and was made through the Shanghai branch of VTB, a Russian state-owned bank.

Also , on February 1, 2024, the Chinese company Morotack signed a contract with Diaprojector, a subsidiary of the BelOMO Group, for 200 units of components called "flanges" worth 114 thousand yuan.

The publication emphasizes that all of these components are very important for creating modern guidance systems. Payment for the contract was made through Belarusian and Chinese banks.

In its turn , the BelOMO group closely cooperates with Russian defense companies, which allows Russia to obtain products from Belarusian enterprises for its own army.

For example, Precision Laser Systems from St. Petersburg supplied Diaproektor with components for lasers used to create laser rangefinders as part of the Sosna-U fire control system and T-72B3 tanks.

The publication claims that 78 units of these components were sold at a price of $499,200.

In particular, in February 2023, Diaproektor indicated in the order that  components would be supplied to the Belarusian defense contractor Peleng "for the production of Sosna-U under the state defense order of the Russian Ministry of Defense".

Oleksandr Ruvin, Director of Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise, said that strengthening sanctions and control over the supply chains of high-tech components to Russia remains an urgent issue, as the enemy is actively using them in weapons used to attack Ukraine.

Strengthening the EU's sanctions against the Russian Federation in connection with Russia's armed aggression on the territory of Ukraine should remain a topical issue on the agenda for our foreign partners. It is high-tech components that are generally key elements in ensuring the functioning of the control, power and navigation systems of Russian missiles. The EU's control over the export of microelectronics and other advanced technologies can significantly affect Russia's ability to develop and improve its military equipment and weapons
