The appeals court explained that the adopted law is the result of joint work of Republicans and Democrats with the participation of two US presidents. The law was passed as part of efforts to counter the threat posed by China.
However, the decision caused harsh criticism from defenders of rights and freedoms. The American Civil Liberties Union said the TikTok ban sets a" dangerous precedent " and violates the principles of free speech.
