Blinken said that despite efforts to combat ISIS, the attack on the Russian shopping center serves as a tragic reminder that ISIS remains a potentially powerful force that must continue to be fought.

U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that the Islamic State terrorist group remains a potentially powerful force that must be combated. This is how he commented on the shooting in the Russian shopping center Crocus City Hall, UNN reports with reference to the website of the US State Department.

Unfortunately, we have been reminded that ISIS remains a real threat.  And despite the very good work we have done over the years to deal with and significantly reduce this threat, the horrific terrorist attack near Moscow just a few days ago reminded us that ISIS remains a potentially powerful force that we must continue to fight

- said Blinken.

Anthony Blinken also expressed his regret over the loss of life due to the shooting near Moscow.

"It's a very unfortunate reminder that we have to continue to fight ISIS and make sure it doesn't resurface," Blinken concluded.
