Bethlehem Light brought to the capital: starting tomorrow it will be available at train stations in a number of Ukrainian cities

The Bethlehem Fire has already been delivered to Kyiv, and tomorrow it will be available at railway stations in a number of Ukrainian cities. This was reported by Ukrzaliznytsia on Telegram, UNN reports.

The Bethlehem Fire was successfully delivered to the capital and traveled further across the country,

Ukrzaliznytsia noted that despite the air raid, the ceremony of handing over the Bethlehem Fire took place in a shelter, and after it was over, everyone could take the fire home.

The agency reminded that this year Ukrzaliznytsia is delivering the light of the Bethlehem Fire across Ukraine for the fourth time.

This warm tradition, started by the Plast scouting organization, warms the hearts of Ukrainians across the country every year during the cold winter season,

Thus, on December 16, everyone will be able to receive the fire for their homes at the railway stations of Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Khmelnytsky, Ternopil, Uzhhorod, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi, Rivne, Lutsk, Korosten, Znamenka, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, Poltava, Kramatorsk, Kharkiv, Izyum, Chernihiv, Konotop and Mykolaiv, where safe stands with the Bethlehem Peace Light will be set up.

Every year on Christmas Eve, the Scouts bring the Peace Light of Bethlehem to the Christian world. The tradition began in 1986 in the Austrian city of Linz, when a local broadcaster decided to bring the fire from Bethlehem to hospitals and orphanages to support those who celebrate Christmas away from home. The fire is flown in by plane from Bethlehem, and later the idea was picked up by the Scouts, making it an international one.

In Ukraine, the Peace Light of Bethlehem has been distributed by the Plast members since 1988.
