Belarus today began training its military from "units for the combat use of nuclear weapons and nuclear support," the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Belarus reported on Monday, UNN writes.

"Today, in the interest of increasing the readiness of the armed forces for the use of modern weapons, including special munitions, training of military units for the combat use of nuclear weapons and nuclear support began under the leadership of the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces – First Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Belarus," the Belarusian Ministry of Defense reported.

The Ministry of Defense of Belarus stated that the purpose of the training is, in particular, "improving the level of personnel training" and "organizing combat use from unplanned areas."

"Military units of the missile forces and aviation are involved in the event. During the training, in cooperation with the Russian side, it is planned to work out the issues of delivery of nuclear munitions and their preparation for use. The main feature of this event will be a check of readiness to perform combat use tasks from unprepared areas throughout the territory of the Republic of Belarus. The main emphasis will be placed on practicing issues of stealth, movement over significant distances, and conducting calculations for the use of forces and means," the Belarusian Ministry of Defense indicated.

"The training is a planned preparation event within the framework of the Union State, is not directed against third countries, and does not pose threats to security in the region," the Ministry of Defense of Belarus claims.
