The publication indicates that this comment was made at a press conference where Carney announced a new policy to accelerate the development of Canada's power grid, including the deployment of more natural gas-fired turbines to produce the fuel the country needs.

In early May, the separatist movement Stay Free Alberta in the Canadian province of Alberta announced the collection of over 300,000 signatures for a referendum on independence.
The organizers of the initiative noted that they submitted 301,450 signatures to the electoral body Elections Alberta, which significantly exceeds the required threshold of approximately 178,000.
In the event of a vote, residents will be asked to answer whether Alberta should leave Canada and become an independent state.
