The Norwegian humanitarian organization Norwegian People's Aid has temporarily suspended all demining operations in Ukraine. The decision was made after the death of two workers as a result of a Russian strike in the Kherson region on June 24.
The Norwegian humanitarian organization Norwegian People's Aid (NPA) has announced a temporary suspension of all demining operations in Ukraine following the death of two of its employees in the Kherson region. This is reported by Astra, writes UNN.

According to the organization, on June 24, two NPA employees were killed and four others were injured as a result of a Russian strike in the north of the Kherson region. After the incident, the management decided to suspend humanitarian demining operations until further notice.
The organization's Secretary General, Raymond Johansen, emphasized that the attack demonstrates the high level of danger for humanitarian workers in combat zones.
According to him, international law protects humanitarian organizations, but recently they have increasingly become targets of attacks. Johansen noted that as a result, the civilian population, which depends on humanitarian aid and demining operations, suffers.
Norwegian People's Aid has been working in Ukraine since 2022 and is one of the largest international organizations involved in clearing territories of mines, unexploded ordnance, and other consequences of war.
