A 59-year-old school bus driver from the Kharkiv region collaborated with the Russian occupiers by transporting their troops and weapons on a repainted school bus between the front line and the Russian city of Belgorod.

The Security Service of Ukraine detained a collaborator who was transporting racists on rotation from Kharkiv region to Belgorod, Russia, on a school bus. UNN reports this with reference to the SBU press service.

Law enforcement reportedly detained a 59-year-old school bus driver from the village of Kozacha Lopan. After the seizure of the community, he offered the invaders his assistance in the war against Ukraine.

According to the investigation, the defendant drove Russian soldiers on rotation from a frontline village to Belgorod and back.

The collaborator used a school bus from the village council, which he parked in the yard of his own home, to make his "trips.

He was also transporting weapons and ammunition from Russia for the Russian occupation groups fighting on the front lines near Kharkiv.

Before the "departure," he repainted the vehicle green and painted Russian symbols on it. Later, fleeing from the Kharkiv region from the counteroffensive of the Defense Forces, the invaders took the bus from the collaborator to take their personnel and weapons away.

The offender was hiding in a neighboring village after the de-occupation of the area and thus tried to avoid justice. However, SBU officers established his whereabouts and detained him.

Based on the SBU materials, the detainee was served a notice of suspicion under Part 1 Art. 111-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (aiding the aggressor state).

The defendant is currently in custody. He faces up to 12 years in prison.
