A deputy of the village council of Kyiv region may have cars and land plots confiscated for 5 million UAH

A deputy of one of the village councils of the Brovary district of the Kyiv region may have cars and land plots confiscated. The total amount of unjustified assets reaches more than 5 million hryvnias.

This is reported by UNN with a reference to SAP.

As UNN learned from its own sources, it is about Maksym Tkachenko, a deputy of one of the village councils of the Brovary district of the Kyiv region.

The prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office filed a lawsuit to recognize as unjustified assets in the total amount of more than UAH 5 million, which are used by a deputy of one of the village councils of the Brovary district of the Kyiv region

- the statement reads.

SAP reports that during the procedural management by the Brovary District Prosecutor's Office of the Kyiv region in the criminal proceedings on the fact of committing a serious crime in the field of environmental protection, data were discovered indicating the acquisition of unjustified assets by a deputy of one of the village councils of the Brovary district of the Kyiv region. The relevant materials have been sent to the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption.

It is about the following.

  • 2 cars:

Volkswagen ID 4, 2023, worth over UAH 1 million, registered to a former wife, and Jaguar XF, 2015, registered to an adult son, but actually managed by the official.

    • Ten land plots registered to the deputy's mother-in-law, ex-wife and son.

The total amount of unjustified assets reaches more than 5 million hryvnias. The analysis of the property status and expenses of the village council deputy and his family members, as well as his ex-wife and mother-in-law, confirmed the impossibility of acquiring these assets from legal income

      - the statement says.

Given the findings, the prosecutor appealed to the court with a claim to recover from the official the assets, the legality of which raises a reasonable doubt.

It should be noted that during the monitoring it was established that the official's mother-in-law alienated a number of land plots in favor of close persons. However, thanks to the timely actions of the prosecutor, who applied to the High Anti-Corruption Court with a request to seize the assets that are the subject of the dispute, it was possible to avoid their further alienation
