Despite the US-declared naval blockade, at least two supertankers linked to the transport of Iranian oil have entered the Persian Gulf through the Strait of Hormuz. This is reported by Reuters, citing shipping data, writes UNN.

According to analytical services, an empty VLCC class supertanker RHN entered the region, although its final destination is still unknown. The vessel is capable of carrying up to 2 million barrels of oil.
A day earlier, another tanker – Alicia – also passed through the strait and, according to available information, is heading to Iraq. Both vessels were previously involved in the transportation of Iranian oil.
Despite US blockade
The US announced the blockade after the failure of negotiations with Iran in Islamabad. The US Central Command stated that since the beginning of the restrictions, no vessel has been able to break through, and some tankers have been turned back.

At the same time, Iranian media report on the passage of at least one sanctioned tanker to an Iranian port.
Pressure and risks
Washington has warned of possible secondary sanctions against buyers of Iranian oil, trying to increase pressure on Tehran ahead of new negotiations.
The blockade is expected to reduce oil exports from Iran, but analysts believe that the country will be able to temporarily maintain production by accumulating resources in storage.
