The Strichka Coordination Platform of Ukrainians Abroad has announced the launch of the "Stand Together" campaign to collect signatures for a petition to the European Parliament "On the urgent admission of Ukraine to the EU to strengthen European security and deter the Russian threat." This was reported by UNN with reference to the registered document.
Details
Russian aggression poses a serious threat not only to Ukraine, but to the whole of Europe. Ukraine's integration into the EU is a necessary condition for forming an effective defense strategy and strengthening common European security
The initiative, launched by the Strichka team, has received support from leading Ukrainian NGOs in Europe, who have become co-initiators of the appeal.
Europe cannot feel safe without Ukraine. Just look at the figures announced by the President: 110 Ukrainian brigades with invaluable combat experience and 82 brigades in all other European countries combined – against the Russian horde of 220 brigades. Meanwhile, the Russian army is only growing. Only together with Ukraine will Europe be protected, and all Europeans should know this
The document calls on the European Parliament to recommend:
- introduce an accelerated procedure for Ukraine's accession to the EU;
- provide for targeted funding in the EU budget for Ukraine's integration, its economic recovery, military-technical cooperation and reforms;
- form a clear roadmap for EU enlargement by 2030 with clear indicators and steps.
The initiators of the petition invite those who wish to join the collection of signatures to join the Strichka community, where you can find country coordinators, necessary materials and team support on the portal. You can also visit the landing page for information about the petition.
Recall
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has called on the European Parliament to step up efforts to accelerate Ukraine's accession to the EU. After all, Ukraine's integration is not only Kyiv's political aspiration, but also the strongest guarantee of security for the entire continent.
