U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, during a visit to Yerevan, supported the pro-Western course of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and signed agreements on the development of the TRIPP economic corridor and a strategic partnership between the countries. During the meeting, Rubio stated that Pashinyan's team is "paving the way for a brighter and more independent future for Armenia."
"We are very happy to be here to demonstrate our support for your courage, your vision, and your commitment. We look forward to the opportunity to do even more together,"

Rubio reported that, together with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, he had taken "another step" toward the implementation of this route.
"This agreement marks the most significant step to date toward bringing this historic route to life, strengthening peace and increasing prosperity in Armenia and, frankly, in the entire region,"
In addition, the parties signed agreements on the renewal of the strategic partnership and cooperation in the field of critical minerals.
"We are laying the foundation for the kind of economic partnership that will allow Armenians to earn money and achieve prosperity, and Americans to do the same alongside them,"
He also emphasized that Washington is acting with respect for Armenia's sovereignty.
