Russia has announced the introduction of a so-called "truce" from May 8 to May 10 in honor of the May 9 celebrations. Simultaneously, the Russian Ministry of Defense has once again threatened Ukraine with a "massive missile strike on the center of Kyiv" in the event of attempts to attack Moscow during the parade. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, according to UNN.
Details
The Russian agency stated that by the decision of dictator Vladimir Putin, from 00:00 on May 8 until May 10, the Russian side will allegedly cease hostilities.
The statement says that Russian troops are to stop the use of artillery, missile weaponry, long-range high-precision weapons, and strike drones.
At the same time, the Russian Ministry of Defense called on Ukraine to "follow the example" of Moscow.
However, simultaneously, the Russian side issued direct threats against Kyiv.
The statement says that in the event of "attempts by the Kyiv regime to disrupt the celebration of the 81st anniversary of victory" in Moscow, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation will allegedly launch a "massive missile strike on the center of Kyiv."
The Russian Ministry of Defense also called on the civilian population of Kyiv and employees of foreign diplomatic missions to "leave the city in a timely manner."
Against the backdrop of these statements, Russia continues daily strikes on Ukrainian cities and civilian infrastructure. Previously, Ukraine has repeatedly stated its readiness for a real ceasefire, but Moscow continued hostilities.
Reminder
The Russian Federation has once again resorted to threatening strikes on "decision-making centers" if Kyiv "implements criminal plans during the victory celebration days." This was stated by the spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, who advised foreign countries to evacuate their diplomats from Kyiv in advance.
