The School of Community Leaders 2.0 is a continuation of the pilot project that started in 2024. Last year, more than 40 representatives of local self-government underwent intensive training in teamwork, project management and grant writing. As part of the initiative, 7 communities received funding from 500 thousand to 1 million UAH for the implementation of their own ideas.

"MHP, in partnership with the MHP-Hromadi Charitable Foundation, develops not only grant programs and social initiatives, but also systematically invests in the training and development of people who are able to create changes in their communities. We are convinced that only strategic cooperation between business, government and communities with a focus on long-term impact ensures sustainable development of regions", said Volodymyr Zabela, Head of the Regional Development Group of MHP.

This year, 50 activists from 13 regions of Ukraine will become participants of the School, who will undergo training in project management, fundraising, social entrepreneurship and leadership, and will also have the opportunity to attract a grant from 500 thousand to 1 million UAH for the implementation of their own initiatives in the field of energy efficiency, youth development and veteran policy.

"This is not just a training program, it is a platform for the formation of responsible and proactive leaders, it is an investment in the future of Ukrainian communities. We see how the knowledge and skills acquired by the participants are transformed into real changes – from development projects to confident leadership. The continuation of the initiative in the 2.0 format is a step towards an even wider impact and sustainable development of local self-government in Ukraine", said Mykola Trofymenko, Rector of Mariupol State University.

What awaits the participants:

• September – November 2025: training in the format of online and offline trainings;

• November – December 2025: preparation, defense and selection of winning projects;

• 2026: implementation of selected projects with the support of grants (on the terms of co-financing of at least 50% of the grant amount).

Training is free, and during offline sessions, participants are provided with accommodation and meals.
