Earlier, the US granted a 30-day permit for the purchase of sanctioned Russian oil and petroleum products, explaining this by the need to stabilize the global energy market amid the war with Iran.
This decision was made after a phone call between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin on March 9.
Previous contacts
Dmitriev had already visited the US after this conversation to discuss the energy situation. At that time, he met with representatives of the American side, including special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
