Putin's special representative, Kirill Dmitriev, is in the United States, where he is holding meetings with members of Donald Trump's administration. The parties are discussing a possible peace agreement on Ukraine and economic cooperation between the countries, Reuters reports, writes UNN.

According to agency sources, the visit comes ahead of a US decision on extending a temporary waiver of sanctions on Russian oil, which expires on April 11. This issue is also on the agenda of the talks.

Earlier, the US granted a 30-day permit for the purchase of sanctioned Russian oil and petroleum products, explaining this by the need to stabilize the global energy market amid the war with Iran.

Dmitriev had already visited the US after this conversation to discuss the energy situation. At that time, he met with representatives of the American side, including special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
