Russian dictator Vladimir Putin stated that, in his opinion, the war between Russia and Ukraine is "coming to an end." He said this on Saturday during a conversation with journalists at the Kremlin, UNN reports.

The dictator also expressed readiness to discuss new security arrangements in Europe. According to him, he considers former German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder to be the best partner for such negotiations.
Putin's statement came a few hours after the May 9 parade in Moscow, where he once again promised Russia victory in the war against Ukraine.
The Kremlin announces a pause in negotiations
The Kremlin also reported that peace negotiations mediated by the administration of US President Donald Trump are currently suspended.
During his speech, Putin repeated traditional accusations against the West and NATO. He claimed that Western countries allegedly broke promises not to expand the Alliance eastward after the fall of the Berlin Wall and attempted to pull Ukraine into the EU's orbit.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump stated that he would like to see the ceasefire continue.
