Predictions for the final scenario varied. But many predicted a tough, viscous positional game with few chances, let alone goals. However, the final, as often happens, developed contrary to predictions. At least PSG did not waste time on reconnaissance.
PSG started the match actively, effectively pinning their opponent in their own half of the field. The pressure from the Parisians materialized into a result already in the 12th minute – Vitinha delivered an incredible through ball to Désiré Doué, who found an open Hakimi in the penalty area.
