On the fourth day of the XXXIII Olympic Games in Paris, representatives of the Ukrainian national team competed in 9 sports.
Table Tennis (singles)
In the 1/16 finals, Margarita Pesotska lost in 5 sets to Bernadette Szocs from Romania (1:4) and finished her performance at the Games.
Badminton (singles)
Polina Buhrova defeated Czech Tereza Švábíková in the second round of the group stage - 1:2 (21:19, 19:21, 21:18). However, this was not enough to advance from the group.
Swimming
Denys Kesil finished 24th in the 200m butterfly qualification and did not advance to the semi-finals.
Archery
In the 1/32 finals, Mykhailo Usach lost to the world No. 1 Marcus D'Almeida from Brazil (2:6)
Fencing (epee, team)
In the 1/4 finals, Joan Feybi Bezhura, Daria Varfolomeieva, Olena Kryvytska, and Vlada Kharkova could not defeat the team from China (41:45).
In the tournament for 5-8 places, the Ukrainian team defeated Egypt (45:31) and lost to the world's second-ranked team - the South Korean national team (38:45). Thus, the Ukrainian epee fencers finished their performance at the Games in 6th place.
Tennis
In the third round, Marta Kostyuk and Elina Svitolina played exhausting three-set matches. While Marta's match against Greek representative Maria Sakkari ended with a victory for the Ukrainian (6:4, 6:7 (5:7), 4:6), Elina suffered a defeat from Barbora Krejčíková from the Czech Republic (6:7(5), 6:2, 4:6)
Marta Kostyuk and Dayana Yastremska withdrew from the doubles tournament in favor of the singles, in which Marta is participating.
Canoe Slalom (canoe single)
Viktoriia Us finished 9th in qualification and advanced to the semi-finals.
Football (Round 3)
Ukraine lost to the Argentine national team (0:2) and finished its performance at the Olympics.
Boxing (weight category up to 80kg)
In the 1/8 finals, by a split decision of the judges, Oleksandr Khyzhniak defeated former Ukrainian Pylyp Akilov, who represents Hungary.
