After Philadelphia, Harris and her vice presidential running mate will visit six more cities, including western Wisconsin, Detroit and Las Vegas, the campaign said in a statement released late Tuesday night. It also added a “strong reminder” that Harris “has not made a decision on a running mate.
According to Reuters, the location of the first stop indicates that Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro topped the short list of candidates for the nomination, and that the Harris campaign has decided that the state, which Democrats won back from Republicans in 2020, should be a winner again.

According to sources, Harris is expected to announce his decision on Monday, before a rally in Philadelphia.
The short list of candidates under consideration includes Shapiro, Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear, Arizona Senator Mark Kelly, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg.
If the choice falls on Shapiro, the Harris campaign is likely counting on the popular 51-year-old governor to help win the state in November.
Shapiro will also become the second Jewish vice presidential candidate in U.S. history, following Joe Lieberman's unsuccessful attempt in 2000 with Al Gore.
