In occupied Kherson region, new drone strikes and hits on bridges, as well as bridge closures, are being recorded, indicated Petro Andriushchenko, head of the Center for the Study of Occupation, on social media on Monday, UNN reports.
The 'bridge-fall' continued. Gauleiter Saldo reported that strikes were carried out overnight on the bridge across Chonhar and the bridge to the Arabat Spit. Traffic on both bridges has been completely halted. Fire signatures from NASA's FIRMS service record fires at the attack points. Both bridges had already been hit last week with restrictions imposed. We are approaching the moment of a complete halt of traffic to Crimea via Chonhar and Henichesk
His message appeared after a statement by the Gauleiter of the Kherson region, Volodymyr Saldo, that "after a massive UAV raid, bridges in the Kherson region have been damaged again. After the night attack, the bridge near Chonhar was damaged again. Traffic through 'Dzhankoy' is completely blocked. Night strikes were also carried out on the bridge connecting Henichesk with the Arabat Spit. Traffic on it is blocked." Later, he stated that "reverse traffic from Henichesk to the Arabat Spit has been restored."
Context
The military, using Ukrainian-made middle-strike UAVs, had previously struck key Crimean bridges near Chonhar and Armyansk. The strikes were carried out using FP-2 and "Behemoth" drones. The bridge connecting the Kherson region with Crimea in Chonhar was hit twice – on the night of June 6-7, as well as on the night of June 9.
On June 8, the bridge leading from Henichesk to the Arabat Spit came under attack.
Two more bridges across the North Crimean Canal — in the area of the settlements of Preobrazhenka and Myrne near Armyansk — were attacked on June 11.
In addition, on the night of June 13, the "Dzhankoy" checkpoint, a railway bridge, and a pontoon crossing were hit. In the videos of the strikes shown by the 1st Separate Assault Regiment named after Dmytro Kotsiubailo, instead of a traditional sight, there is a green heart, which is characteristic of strike drones produced by the Fire Point company.
