Former Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin, who was dismissed from his post at the end of October, is to be appointed as Ukraine's ambassador to the Netherlands instead of Oleksandr Karasevych. This was reported by MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak, UNN reports.
"It's true about Kostin. He will go to the Netherlands... and Malyuska will most likely be sent to the Council of Europe or something like that," Zheleznyak said.
Suspilne notes that the decision on Kostin's successor as Prosecutor General has not yet been made, but is being prepared.
Addendum
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said after the NSDC meeting on the situation with the MSEC and the abuse of disability by officials of various state bodies that Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin should be held politically accountable.
"I believe that responsibility for the situation now should be personal," Zelensky said.
The President instructed the Prime Minister of Ukraine to solve the problem at the level of central executive authorities, including the relevant ministries. Personnel decisions are needed.
"There should also be political responsibility of the Prosecutor General for the situation in the prosecution bodies of Ukraine," Zelensky said.
In October, Kostin resigned, and in late October, the Verkhovna Rada approved the dismissal of Andriy Kostin from the post of Prosecutor General.
On October 31, Zelensky officially dismissed Andriy Kostin from the post of Prosecutor General.
There were rumors in the media that the Office of the President had decided on a candidate for a new Prosecutor General to replace Andriy Kostin. According to sources, it could be Ruslan Kravchenko, the current head of the Kyiv State Administration.
It is also worth noting that in late November, Volodymyr Zelenskyy dismissed Oleksandr Karasevych from the post of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
