Kenya accuses Russia of large-scale recruitment of its citizens for the war against Ukraine. This was reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (CCD), informs UNN.
Details
It is noted that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the African country, Musalia Mudavadi, announced a visit to Moscow to demand an end to this practice.
Russia's recruitment of foreigners has long become systemic. Most recruits from African countries have no military experience; they are deceived into signing contracts, promising legal and well-paid work.
It is indicated that after signing the contract, people are sent to the most dangerous sections of the front.
As it became known from four Kenyans who recently returned from the front wounded, one thought he would work as a salesman, two as security guards, and the fourth as a high-level athlete. In total, over the past two months, more than 30 Kenyans have been evacuated from Russia.
They emphasized that the Kremlin uses the recruitment of foreigners for the war as a way to compensate for losses at the front and avoid social tension within the Russian Federation.
"Such actions directly contradict the Kremlin's propaganda line in Africa. Russia opposes itself to the 'colonial West' and talks about 'respect for Africa,' although in reality it uses Africans as a resource for its aggressive war against Ukraine," the CCD summarized.
Recall
Last week, the GUR reported the elimination of three Kenyan mercenaries near Lyman who were working for the Russian Federation. They arrived at the war, lured by promises of earnings.
