Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha participated online in a meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council on Monday, where he informed colleagues about the consequences of Russia's massive strike last night and called for the creation of a "European anti-ballistic shield." This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, according to UNN.

"The Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra is the spiritual center of our nation and a sanctuary for all of Christianity. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage site. We expect a decisive reaction from UNESCO's governing bodies and the immediate dispatch of UNESCO experts to the scene of this crime," the minister noted.
Sybiha added that the UN identified May as the deadliest month for Ukrainian civilians, with at least 270 people killed.
Therefore, the Foreign Minister emphasized that anti-ballistic defense must become a common cause for all of Europe and urged partners to find any possibilities to provide the Ukrainian Defense Forces with these means.
"Strategically, we need a European anti-ballistic shield. This is about Europe's security and its strategic autonomy," Sybiha remarked, thanking all allies who have already joined this initiative.
The Minister emphasized that the best response to Russian terror would be Ukraine's full membership.
He also noted that Ukraine is capable of strengthening the EU and outlined a clear position regarding future membership: "Our goal is full membership. No alternative exists—neither within EU law nor in today's turbulent world. The time for half-measures has passed. As has the time for paper guarantees."
