European Union Commissioner for Defense and Space Andrius Kubilius met with representatives of the Office of the President of Ukraine. They discussed the strengthening of air defense, the results of meetings between Ukrainian officials and representatives of the current US administration of Joe Biden and the future administration of Donald Trump. This was reported by UNN with reference to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak.

During the discussion, Kubilius's support was highly appreciated, including his contribution to strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities. "I am confident that in his new position he will continue to help Ukraine both in its struggle for victory and on the path to full EU membership. It is important that Europe maintains a clear policy of support for our country and common security. This is one of the key factors for a just peace," said the head of the OP.
"We discussed the situation on the frontline, the urgent needs of the Defense Forces and the issue of strengthening Ukraine's air defense. I shared the results of recent meetings with representatives of the current and future U.S. administrations. Coordination of efforts between Europe and the United States is critical for Ukraine's victory and overcoming Russian aggression," said Yermak.
According to him, special attention was paid to the fight against Russian propaganda and its impact on the international perception of the war. "Andrius Kubilius emphasized that Ukraine defends the entire European continent. Together, we are looking for ways to achieve peace through strength and resilience," said Yermak.
The Commissioner was accompanied by the EU Ambassador to Ukraine Katarina Mathernova and other members of her team, including the Chief of Staff Simonas Satunas and Ramunas Stanionis.
The Ukrainian side was represented by counsels Daria Zarivna and Oleksandr Bevz.
