Zelensky said that 12-15 additional air defense systems are needed to fully protect the country.
After Russia's massive missile attack on Ukraine's energy infrastructure last Friday, Russia will try to strike again as soon as it is ready, so additional air defense systems are needed to protect it. This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy during his address to the summit of the countries participating in the Joint Expeditionary Force, UNN reports.

"Last Friday night, the Russians launched a massive missile attack on our energy infrastructure. They were waiting for the onset of cold weather to strike. The attack involved 94 missiles and almost 200 attack drones. Fortunately, we managed to defend ourselves. But we know that this is just a pause, and Russia will try to strike again as soon as they are ready. They always do that. That is why we need a reliable guarantee of protection against air terror, and this means having a sufficient number of air defense systems," Zelensky said.
According to him, Ukraine needs to fully implement the agreements on the supply of air defense systems, in particular those reached at the NATO summit in Washington.
We remember that as compensation for the inability to invite Ukraine to join the Alliance at that stage, we were promised a significant number of air defense systems. I ask for your help to make sure that this is fulfilled. And frankly speaking, our partners know that we need 12-15 more systems in addition to these to fully protect our country from Russian missile attacks. This is realistic.
